The Civil Celebrations Network Inc has used the letters of the words "Professional Civil Celebrant" as an attempt to tease out the essential qualities a person would need to make them a:

1. celebrant
(rather than non-celebrant)

2. civiil
(rather than religious)

3. professional
(rather than lay)

Obviously the letters in this creative approach limit the choices, but have we come close ?
