Hello everyoneI have been reading all the forums regarding late brides and thought you might like to have a laugh at my expense! For my very first wedding the groom told me he was flying into Perth from Adelaide, 1 hour prior to the ceremony. I asked what he was going to do if the flight was delayed. He didn't think there would be any problems but as fate would have it, his plane had landing gear problems and the flight was cancelled! This was a 10am wedding, so the bride sent me a message to go back to bed and she would let me know what was happening. Well I didn't go back to bed, I simply got dressed and ready. Then she let me know that he was on a flight but it wouldn't arrive until an hour after the ceremony was supposed to start. His other family members had to go via Melbourne and would arrive 2 hours after the groom. We then decided that as it was breakfast food, they should go ahead with the reception (as bacon and egg doesn't go down very well after lunch) and that I should arrive around 2pm to do the ceremony! This is exactly what happened, the ceremony went off beautifully and they were happily married 4 hours after they should have been. Lucky for them that I didn't have another ceremony to do! My first wedding is one that I'll never forget. I've since done nine and all with the lastest bride arriving 20 minutes after she should have!
