The Practical Handbook for Celebrantsto Welcome, Celebrant and Farewell

Compiled by AMC with writings by Ruth Van Gramberg proudly presented and distributed by Australian Marriage Celebrants Inc.
As you are no doubt aware, the wedding business in Australia, is ‘big’ business, with multiple spin offs for other businesses, it employs thousands of people in wedding related occupations, with revenue that is re-directed back into the national economy – in other words, profits that stay within Australia. Indeed in this country, a civil wedding ceremony, can be truthfully labelled, “Made in Australia” However, at the heart of this ritual and all that it embodies, is the desire of two individuals to make a commitment to each other other, with the fervent hope it will last for life. Marriage is today, what it was eons ago, the union of two people. The shape, size, design, or theme of a civil wedding ceremony has no template, all weddings, by their nature are different.
Yet there is a commonality in Australia for a civil marriage ceremony - it is the Marriage Act, 1961, and it is upon this piece of legislation that the soon to be released book by the Australian Marriage Celebrants Inc., is based.
“The Practical Handbook for Celebrants to Welcome, Celebrate and Farewell” was launched by Australian Marriage Celebrants Inc (AMC Inc) on the evening of Thursday 18th August 2011 at the Citigate Hotel, in Sydney.
