"Smokers Please"
Here is a question I would like to ask marriage celebrants who do NOT smoke cigarettes.
Before I ask my question let me first tell this;
In being polite - I have a few times put up with cigarette smoke from couples wanting to marry only because it was their home I was in.
But just lately I was asked to come to the home of an elderly couple wanting to marry. By the time I left I was very dizzy and had a terrible sore throat. This I kid you not.
All night I felt sick and vowed I will never again put up with this type of smoke. I would rather walk out and lose the booking rather than putting my health at risk. Now there most probably IS celebrants who smoke, I have nothing against smokers as long as they keep it to themselves.
Now for my question;
what would you say to a couple who lit up while you were in their home while conducting an interview.

Re: "Smokers Please"
I think I would remind the couple that their home becomes my work place while I'm visiting and ask them to refrain from smoking for the duration of the visit.
I would include my no smoking policy in the first conversation prior to the first meeting. Or have an occupational safety and health policy section on your web site outlining why such a policy exists.

Sue ... a GREAT idea. I was hoping for an answer from someone where I can finally put an idea into action, and you came up with it. Wonderful.
Now I've just got to know how to go about it?
Thank you very much (wayne)
