I come from a loving family background and have been married now for forty years. I have two children and four grandchildren. I have always been creative and as a twelve year old I learnt oil painting and still love to paint. For many years I have been involved in my community first teaching the art of calligraphy and then folk art which I am still actively teaching today. I have always enjoyed creative writing and have written many poems through the years, including my annual Christmas Verse .
Usually I worked as a shop assistant for small family owned businesses and loved the daily contact with customers.
Wedding Ceremonies are everyone’s favourite celebration and I am no exception to the rule. I enjoy ceremonies of all kinds. The joy I see on the faces of my Brides and Grooms after being pronounced husband and wife, is a sight and a moment I will never tire of. At that moment I feel humbled to be such a special part of their day. I love the huge sigh of relief that escapes them (usually audible only to me) after getting through their marriage vows and knowing the pressure is lifted from them, as they relax and enjoy that special moment – Their First Kiss as Man and Wife.
I see the happiness, love and trust, and yes even the tears that flow, when couples are saying their vows. I see the unmeasurable love and pride in the step of the Bride’s father as he escorts his daughter down the aisle to join her husband to be and I watch as he tenderly kisses her cheek then join his wife and the other guests. I realise at that moment just how emotional that special time must be for him.
For me there is no such thing as a wedding that is too grand, too small or too simple. I attend to every ceremony with the same degree of dedication, sensitivity and professionalism, regardless of a couple’s budget. The minimum number of people required for a legal marriage is five. The celebrant, the couple aged eighteen and over, and two witnesses aged eighteen and over.
I became a Marriage Celebrant in 2008 . I pride myself on my friendly professional service and specialise in personalised ceremonies.
