Melbourne celebrant Jennifer Floyd  - Appointed September 2004

My background is in Nursing. After managing critical care equipment needs I became a product evaluation Clinical Nurse Consultant and advised many hospitals nationally and in Fiji.

Following the redundancy of my last senior position, I looked at combining my people skills with my creative writing and presentation skills. Celebrancy connects with people at really important times of their lives and so moving into that newer role was a natural fit for my personality and style as well as my background in helping people.

Every celebration I’ve taken part in has brought treasured memories; these range from helping people find a voice when they’re grieving, through the special joys of weddings large and small, to celebrating the birth of new lives which come to the parents I’ve previously married!

My tip for Weddings ~

I always suggest that marrying couples privately focus on what’s really important to them and then work together firstly, then with and through me to bring that meaning into their public ceremony. Their future marriage isn’t about the cars, flowers or dresses – it’s about building a solid relationship which will sustain them both through all life’s ups and downs.

So, given that most couples organise their own weddings, I suggest that they regularly take time out from all the busy-ness of planning the ‘trimmings’ to make sure they retain the connectedness that will refresh and support them in the lead-up to the big day and then, well into the future!
