Gippsland celebrant Kathy McKimm - Appointed October 2007

I'm a Kiwi by birth, and an Aussie by choice!!

I have 2 sons both at Melbourne University, and by day I manage a Medical Practice. I'm a nurse/midwife and have always enjoyed working with people from all walks of life and place family values high on my list of priorities.

I spotted an advertisement to undertake a Celebrancy course in our local Gippsland paper early July 2004 and felt as if I had been struck by lightning!! It seemed to be something that I really wanted to do.

After completing the course I then waited three years until October 2007 to be able to practice as a Celebrant. Since then I have performed many weddings and have my first few naming ceremonies booked.

I love working with the people of Gippsland. I love the connection with the heart and soul of our community and I feel it is such a privilege to be present at such important occasions. I have much to learn and intend to further my studies in this area.

In five years time I would like to have given up my day job and be a full time Celebrant. I would like to be involved in all types of ceremonies that involve our families and communities.
