Many thanks to Deborah for providing her profile. Deborah Chaplin Melbourne Authorised Civil Celebrant - Appointed September 2008 I have worked in small business and very large corporate environs, crunching numbers and negotiating with all walks of life. Do I miss that life? – No! As a celebrant I have found that I meet a broad spectrum of amazing people. I am able to offer guidance and support and relish the opportunity to help people create a very special day – whatever the celebration. I am naturally a creative person and enjoy it. Dressmaking, cooking, arty crafty tasks I get the idea in my head and I am able to run with it. I love colour and fresh ideas. When our eldest son married, my husband and I created a video of the bride and groom showing the two of them as babies and finishing with them as the happy couple entering into their married life - now you might say that is not a new idea, difference is we did it when it was an original idea. I will never, as long as I live, forget the sheer joy that the video brought to both families. Problem we have now is that when our other two children get married, we are going to have to come up with a bigger and better idea! As a guest, I would attend weddings and watch the celebrants intently andwonder what it must feel like to be responsible for bringing a couple together in a legally binding relationship. And now that I am a celebrant I know exactly how it feels – it is tremendous to be able to be a part of very special celebrations, not just weddings. Recently, I officiated at a wedding – he is a young man who lost both parents as a very young teenager. Emotions were at an extreme level – the tears flowed freely – to say it was beautiful day was an understatement. A beautiful bride – a handsome groom, the beginning of a brand new life, so pleased I was a part of it. I will continue to be a celebrant for as long as I can provide an efficient and reliable service. Deborah Chaplin Civil Marriage CelebrantMelbourne VictoriaMore about Deborah - click here
