I have worked in the meat industry for 30 years the last 10 years was in the training program, as I have a Certificate 4 in Assessment and Workplace Training, I was conducting in a class room of up to 50 people all inductions for the new employees. Teaching new employees skills required for the task they must performed.
I feel this role has given me the opportunity to feel relaxed and confident to stand in front of a large crowd and perform my ceremonies.
I was born and raised in the Townsville area, left Townsville to work in Brisbane for a few years then decided to return to Townsville to live, I have two wonderful children who also live in Townsville with seven lovely grandchildren.

I was attracted to becoming a celebrant when my daughter decided to marry, watching with interest the celebrant who performed her wedding ceremony.
I decided then that this was something I could do and would enjoy doing and made inquiries about the course needed to become a celebrant.
I was on the waiting list for 2 years before being appointed.
I totally enjoy this new profession and love meeting all the new people wanting to be married, I have had the opportunity to travel to different areas that I probably would not have seen had it not been for my role as a celebrant. I have met so many wonderful people
A treasured memory I will not forget is conducting my first ceremony for a very good friend we all had a few tears through the ceremony

In 5 years time I hope to still be conducting ceremonies with all the extra experience I have gained over the years, as I enjoy this so much, and in the future my plan is to be travelling with my Husband around
