Jenni Bolton  Melbourne Authorised Civil Celebrant - Appointed September 2005

My name is Jenni Bolton and I was registered as a Civil Celebrant in September 2005. Since then I have officiated at about 60 weddings, and a couple of renewal of vows, namings and funerals.

I am a secondary school teacher now working part-time to allow me time to look after my 4 grandchildren with another one on the way.

I was attracted to training to become a celebrant because I love working with people to achieve a goal, and I suppose my background in education and theology gave me the confidence and the skills needed to successfully fulfill the role.

My most treasured memory as a celebrant was when I married my daughter in July last year in All Saints Chapel on Hamilton Island. To see her walk towards me and her husband-to-be,  looking absolutely stunning on the arm of my husband, and accompanied by her two sisters and my three year old granddaughter the flowergirl, is a vision that is very precious and special and will always remain with me as a gift of celebrancy.

In five years time I would like to still be doing what I am doing now, although perhaps I will have by then retired from teaching. I have several friends who have recently become celebrants, and I enjoy helping them get established just as I was helped by some wonderfully supportive friends when I was starting out.

I would like to take this opportunity to especially thank Rona who has given me invaluable advice and support on many occasions, and I think we are extremely fortunate to have  the ACCN as a great networking source of helpful information, collegiality and entertainment.

The above photo was taken yesterday in the Alexandra Gardens, Kew, and I have been given permission by the couple to use it.

Kind regards to all
