Beh-roze Bilimoria  Authorised Civil Celebrant - Appointed February 1995

Appointed in February 1995 by the Attorney-General of Australia, I am a Sydney based Marriage Celebrant conducting civil ceremonies and am a member of AMC Inc. and the ACCN – both excellent professional organisations for Marriage Celebrants.

Located in St Ives on the leafy north shore of Sydney, just 20 minutes from the heart of the city, I travel to all areas of Sydney to conduct weddings.

Behroze They say that behind every successful woman is a wonderful man.  In my case it is my husband, Jimmy, who is mainly responsible for me being told that I look much younger than I am. He keeps me looking and feeling young. We recently celebrated a special anniversary milestone and renewed our vows.

We immigrated to Australia with our two daughters in 1971 and Sydney is our home. I am Australian and love this country with a passion - the same passion that I share with my couples for whom I perform wedding ceremonies; the same passion I display when I spur on my Aussie cricket team to move mountains, or when I urge the Sydney Swans to fly high!

I have a flair for languages which has brought about a new dimension to my celebrant work. My husband and I have done extensive travelling, especially cruises and we enjoy experiencing varied cultures, but always look forward to returning home to Sydney.

Prior to becoming a Celebrant I worked as a flight attendant and also compéred fashion shows.  I have also done some stage work and participated in university elocution contests and debating teams.  All of this, combined with a secretarial and Sales & Marketing background stands me in good stead when delivering a ceremony with professionalism.

A genuine love for people is reflected in my approach to couples and the feeling that I put into composing personalised ceremonies for them. I get to know each couple before writing something special for them. I become a friend and confidante as well as their celebrant. Their feedback is rewarding and important to me and makes me want to give my best in everything I do. A sense of humour is paramount in my philosophy of life.

My work as a celebrant keeps me happily busy, however since 2007 I have been actively involved with the National Breast Cancer Foundation which is a national organisation for Australians personally affected by breast cancer.  This allows me to give something of myself to others in need and keeps me focused on the important things in life.

My name is of Persian origin: "Beh" means good, beautiful or auspicious; and "roze" means day. And it is so prophetic that I should be in this line of work where I can give my couples and their families a happy day.

To me, being a celebrant is a privilege and not a right.  I love what I do and all things being good, I will continue to do this for many years to come.
