My Motto is the Kiss philosophy: Keep it Simple Stupid
I am proud of the ‘National Service Medal’ awarded to me in January 2003 by the Federal Government for my 'Years of Service as a Nasho' - albeit 35 years after the event. And was awarded the Australian Defence Medal in 2006.
I was instrumental in getting approval and presenting National OPD sessions under the new 'Marriage Celebrant Program' program commenced in 2003. Sessions were ‘live’ taped, with Videos sold Australia Wide.
In 2008 my peers awarded me Life Membership of that Association: In Recognition of my outstanding efforts to further the education and improvement of the Association, and unofficially as Webmaster – Guru, a name leftover from his Airline days
I am currently the Executive Officer of Marriage Celebrants Association (Inc) Est. West Australia (MCA Inc. W.A.) which has a membership in excess of 240 members. I am also a member of Australian Celebrants and Celebrations Network (ACCN) as well as the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants (AFCC), and daily in-touch, with some 964 Marriage Celebrants Australia-wide by Email forums on a wide-range of informative issues including Marriage in Australia and have a direct link to the Attorney General's Department.
I am an avid follower and believer of the Attorney General's, 'Marriage Celebrant Program', of On-going Professional Development for all Authorised Civil Marriage Celebrants. This will hone the skills and knowledge-base of all Authorised Civil Celebrants, thus raising awareness levels within the 'profession' and more importantly the needs basis of clients. It will never clone celebrants alike!
I have been married since 1975, and am a father of 4 children, a grandfather of 14 and great grandfather of four great grandchildren.
