Albury- Wodonga Celebrant Ginny Bydder appointed September 2004

My working life with people in the Hospitality and Nursing professions has proven valuable in my life as a Civil Celebrant. A subsequent role in Public Relations and as an events co-ordinator provided much insight into the importance of details in helping to create special ceremonies.ALBURY CELEBRANT

A car accident in the 80s forced 2 years of "time out" for a few years with a paralysed neck. A testing time indeed, which ultimately provided a new level of appreciation for life. Having been forced to look for help outside the traditional medical areas, as my neck gradually healed I spent many years retraining in: Counselling, Reiki teaching, Hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)  and many other forms of alternative healing.  Finally full movement returned to my neck  and it was time to move forward into a happier, more fulfilling space.

A friend's wedding inspired the move into Celebrancy. As such a hopeless romantic the thought of being involved in such an important and happy threshold became the impetus to endure a torturous training in Celebrancy lasting almost a year.

After a wait of 18 months I was appointed as a Civil Celebrant in 2004. A letter arrived in the Post saying "You're now a Celebrant" - eek! "What to do?"

Answer - to go to every conference and OPD I could find.

It was at a conference in Alice Springs that I met the wonderful and inspiring Rona Goold and subsequently (still don't quite know how it happened), ended up helping her with the Celebrant's Shop.

Where do I want to be in 5 years time - where I am now with my wonderful husband of 14 years in Wodonga with our two Beagles.
