| Melbourne Celebrant Sally Cant |
| After many years of managing communication agencies I became a Celebrant in 1995, after waiting on a list for seven years. |

I am blessed to have three gorgeous, balanced and happy children Ben 27, Dan 25 and Jess 21. I have experienced an exciting and diverse life; I’ve had an extensive corporate career and concurrently I taught music for over 25 years. I am an award-winning artist, I was a nominee for the Telstra Business Awards in 2004, and an author. However working as a Celebrant has given me far more opportunities for personal development and growth.

I somehow managed to work at a CEO level whilst continuing to perform ceremonies for a number of years, and in 2003 after I sold my IT website development company (3legs) I started The Celebrants Training College and now focus on the training of Celebrants – mainly in mentoring, OPD and Funeral Celebrancy. There are many rewards for me personally in this industry. The fact that I get to meet so many people from all walks of life is of great personal reward. Much of it is in very happy times – from weddings, to naming days, to retirement ceremonies, renewal of vows to teenage transition ceremonies. However the biggest personal reward for me is creating and delivering an authentic funeral ceremony. My long awaited book, The Heart and Soul of Celebrancy, is due out in February 2009 and although somewhat a daunting process I am now very excited to see it out in the marketplace. |
