Canberra celebrant Jenny Grierson - Appointed September 2004

I am Jenny Grierson, resident of Canberra for 15 months having been called here by the birth of my first grandchild.

I have done many tasks in my life from Social Work to Teaching Social Welfare in the TAFE child care certificate program, to running holiday units on Phillip Island, Vic.

I was attracted to celebrancy when I retired as I felt the need to remain part of the workforce and community life, and being a romantic all my life was happy to be part of the romance of loving commitment.

Currently my most treasured memory is that I have written from the heart a new, deeply felt introduction for my sample pages and I am waiting to see if it expresses what I have personally experienced of love and relationship enough to become appropriate for some of my couples. I have noticed that using my own words in ceremonies allows for authentic presentation of the ideas, resulting in better communication with all present.

In 5 years time I hope to have graduated to presenting funerals as my head tells me that this is one of the more important parts of ceremony to be explored.

I also have other ambitions which are like unfinished business in my life, such as improving my French conversation, re-visiting Hindi, memorizing fiddle music rather than having to watch the dots all the time and other things. I find it important to have a life of my own as well as aiming to be a fine celebrant.
