Melbourne celebrant Grahame Code - Appointed 1995
I was drawn to celebrancy after working all my life with people, particularly those involved with adult education.

A Family Concern - Grahame and daughter Christine
From my commencement I enjoyed the work but I was never alone.  I drew on the expertise of others: Dally, Tony Gelme, Roger Thomson, Ian Winton, Rona Goold and many more.

Then, there was the enthusiasm of my wife Lynda.  In those years, there was a great sense of comradeship.  I hope to be useful to those who now seek my expertise.

So my celebrancy developed and is a family business where all members of the family contribute.  Lynda helps the couple put together their individual wedding ceremony and does all the presentation of the ceremony, while Christine our daughter is in charge of the music and helps each couple choose the music they would like that is special to them.
Each couple is given assistance to make their marriage ceremony be a special and personal day to remember.

This year, I was a finalist in the 2008 Gippsland Business Awards which was a real thrill.

I work with wonderful people: my family, photographers, chauffeurs, wedding venue proprietors, and of course my clients.

I love what I do because I work with people at a high point in their lives.

Every wedding I perform is special to me but I must admit that there is a lovely and personal buzz when I perform a baby naming having married the couple earlier!

I even performed a marriage for a couple in their late 80's - that was exciting!

My hardest assignment was burying a girl killed in a car accident, four days after I had performed her wedding.

I hope to join the celebrants 1000 club and continue to share my knowledge with new celebrants entering this wonderful field of service.
