Ask a Celebrant

Forum rules

PDF Print E-mail

The Ask A Celebrant website offers two types of forums for:

  • the general public to make share and make suggestions & comments to each other, and to ask questions of independent  celebrants and other suppliers.
  • independent civil celebrants to work together to advance their celebrancy practices

Under no circumstances are these forums to be used to defame or in any way, be critical of a specific celebrant, product or service provider.

  • Nor are these ASK A CELEBRANT FORUMS  to be used to advertise, promote or market one's ceremony or celebration related services, products or businesses.

  • ONLY ACCN celebrants or paid directory listees on an ACCN website may identify themselves here as celebrants or as a business. For a paid ACCN listing see: http://www.accn.com.au/accn-shop/category/2/accn-directory-listings.

General tips and suggestions, however, about what to look for and what to avoid are welcome.

  • There is no expectation here that celebrants or other forum users give away information of a commercial in conidence nature.
  • For independent celebrants though, sharing improves all our celebrancy practice and encourages others  .. the ACCN aims for a win:win.
  • If you are a celebrant who is part of the ACCN-CAL Group Copyright Licence, you must observe the Copyright Licence Rules and restrict discussions to the sharing of copyrighted materials ONLY.
  • A separate Funeral Celebrant Forum for discussions of a general nature is available for ACCN members which will come to your email box in the same Digest.

HOW TO USE ACCN FORUMS:

The ACCN Forums use software that will allow you to:

  • visit forums online, and / or receive your choice of  Daily, Weekly or Monthly Forum Digests sent to your nominated personal email box, and/or receive RSS feeds
  • set up your own User Control panel to ensure the Funeral Optons Forums are set to suit your needs, including being able to set your signature if required for your participation in a Forum.

To do any of the above, you must LOGIN.

  • Ensure you have your USERNAME and PASSWORD are saved by the website and your browser.
  • And recorded somewhere easily accessible so you can remember where to find it if you forget !!

Also it is important to read through How to Use the Funeral Options Forums, if you are not completely familiar with ACCN Forum software.

DotThe Email Discussion Forum may be on occasions used to be used to tell other members about one’s own or friends’ products and services, provided this relationship is acknowledged publicly and there is a STANDARD listing of the product and service in the ACCN directory

DotThe ACCN is especially interested in knowing of any products and services that could be encouraged to list with us and thus make our network more viable

Note:

The primary purpose of this group is to assist the general public in having greater access to ceremonies and celebrations and to help ACCN members celebrancy practices grow.

For this reason we ask that all communication be posted on the Celebrancy Practice Forum, unless for one's own or another's business protection.

Never sharing information and resources with other members, undermines us all. We can say this, because we have purposely set fees at an inclusive level so almost all celebrants should be able to join this network.

We also believe in the old "barter system".
ie We are prepared to consider an application to join this network by someone on compassionate grounds in exchange for their services in promoting our network
